From recurring back pain to charity bike ride
Context
This gentleman worked full time in a desk-based role and led an active life, enjoying golf, bootcamp and spinning. His goal was to stay active and train for a charity bike ride planned for the summer.
What was happening
He was experiencing recurring back pain alongside calf pain, which had started to limit both training and everyday comfort. Imaging had previously confirmed age-related wear and tear in the lower spine, helping explain why the problem kept returning rather than fully settling.
The Approach
Time was taken to assess how his spine was moving and coping with training and the impact his movement was having on his calf. Treatment focused on settling flare-ups, restoring movement and, crucially, giving him clear methods to manage and maintain his back long term. Each new issue was approached with a plan, rather than a quick fix.
The outcome
Over time, his back became far more reliable. Flare-ups became rare, he returned to golf without pain and was able to train successfully for, and complete, his charity bike ride. He now manages his activity with confidence, knowing how to respond if symptoms reappear. Beyond physical recovery, support and guidance during a particularly difficult period helped him regain perspective and develop healthier ways of coping, something he credits with changing how he approaches life as a whole.
His words
“You’ve always been able to diagnose and rectify my issues. I very rarely suffer with my back now and can play golf without pain. Your advice changed my outlook on life and how to deal with mental issues. Without a doubt, I will always contact you with any issues.”
Why this matters
Care isn’t just about resolving symptoms, it’s about helping people feel capable, supported and confident in their bodies and themselves, the impact can extend far beyond pain relief.
